Who We Are

We are a duly registered organization owned by members; regular employees of Makati Medical Center, members of the Makati Medical Center Medical Staff, their secretaries, regular employees of the MMCFCC, and former MMC employees categorized as Associate members. We have a common bond of interest, who voluntarily joined together to achieve a lawful common social or economic end, making equitable contributions to the capital required and accepting a fair share of the risks and benefits of the undertaking in accordance with universally accepted coop principles.

In 1991, the idea of Cooperativism at MMC was introduced by a core group composed mostly of Department Heads, Managers, and Medical Consultants of Makati Medical Center.

On March 13, 1992, MMCFCC was formally registered as a cooperative, under the supervision of the Cooperative Development Authority, with head office in Quezon City. We are in close coordination with Makati Cooperative Development Office (MCDO-Makati City Hall).

Initial Capital and Members

MMCFCC started with just a table inside the accounting department of MMC and with seed money of only P50,000.00. The amount was advanced by MMC and was returned as soon as the cooperative has attained its financial requirements. With an initial membership of 53 and increase to 1,326 as of December 31, 2023.
